CLAREMONT, CA – Firefighters driving down the 1600 block of Towne Avenue in Claremont discovered the body of a man believed to be the victim of a hit-and-run accident today. The man, believed to be in his 50s, was discovered at 2:30 a.m. this morning.
Claremont police Sgt. David Demetz told CBS Los Angeles: “At this time we have no eyewitnesses. We haven’t been able to find video surveillance, although we’re continuing to work on any possible leads. But really at this time, there’s no suspect information.”
It is not clear whether the victim had been lying in the road for some time, or if the accident had just occurred before the firefighters found him. The victim has not yet been identified.
