(SOUTH LOS ANGELES, March 2020) — After turning onto the tracks, a car was struck by the Metro Blue Line Train on Long Beach Avenue, ABC reports. At about 10:50 a.m. Tuesday morning, a dark sedan turned onto the tracks in the direct path of the train. The car was dragged a distance before the train was able to stop. The driver is reported to have sustained only minor injuries. The gate meant to bar the tracks during a train crossing was not engaged at the time. It is unclear whether warning signals were active.
