Woman killed in fatal rear-end collision in Garden Grove

LOS ANGELES, CA – The La Times reports that Julie Varley, a 59-year-old woman from Garden Grove, was killed in a fatal rear-end collision on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Varley was stopped at a red light when a 27-year-old driver, Kyle Morey, crashed into the back of her vehicle and forced her into the car in front of hers. The incident occurred at the junction of eastbound Chapman Avenue and Euclid Street.

Varley was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead. Morey suffered severe injuries and underwent surgery yesterday.

Police say they believe Morey was under the influence of drugs when the accident occurred.
