UPDATE: Police Identify Teen Killed in Caravan

LOS ANGELES, CA – Four teenagers in a Dodge Charger crashed into a highway divider while participating in a caravan commemorating the Armenian Genocide. The accident occurred on Friday, April 24, while the car was traveling on the Santa Monica Freeway. The force of the impact caused one of the passengers to fly out of the car and onto the road.

Police have now identified the ejected passenger as 15-year-old David Bakalyan. This boy was pronounced dead on the scene. The 16-year-old driver and two other passengers sustained moderate injuries in the accident, and they were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The cause of the accident is still unknown, but witnesses state that the car was swerving across lanes before crashing.
