LONG BEACH, CA – The Long Beach Post reports that police officers pursued and eventually arrested a driver who they suspected was driving while intoxicated. The pursuit began at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 24 at the intersection of Walnut Avenue and Hellman Street. Officers chased the suspect to 1700 Gardenia Avenue, where the man ran into a home.
The suspect emerged from the house and was arrested after Long Beach police officers formed a perimeter and called for the man to surrender. The intoxicated driver caused no injuries on the road, and he left with officers peacefully after his arrest. A female passenger in the car with the suspect was also taken into custody for questioning.
