HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA – A 27-year-old man driving a 2012 Dodge died after crashing in a construction zone on the 405 Freeway. According to Patch Crime & Safety, the accident occurred at 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, when the man drove into a closed portion of the HOV lane near Newland Street.
The California Highway Patrol identified the driver as Spencer Sandridge, and pronounced him dead on the scene. The accident injured two construction workers, who were working in the area at the time of the crash.
Police officers transported the 46-year-old and the 54-year-old to a local hospital for treatment. The police believe the two men sustained moderate to major injuries during the accident.
