Police identify man killed in Bakersfield car crash

BAKERSFIELD, CA – The California Highway Patrol (CHP) identified Jarnail Singh, 58, as the passenger who died in a two-car collision on Tuesday night.

KBAK Fox 58 reports that a silver Nissan and a pick-up truck collided at approximately 8:30 p.m. on May 12. The incident occurred at the intersection of South Union Avenue and Curnow Road in southeast Bakersfield. The cars were severely damaged in the accident and at least one person was trapped inside a vehicle.

CHP officers stated that Singh died at the scene of the accident. Multiple people in both vehicles were severely injured, but officials have not released any information about the injuries at this time. They transported the injured people to Kern Medical for treatment.

The police are still investigating the cause of the accident. However, they do not suspect that either driver was drinking or using drugs.
