LONG BEACH, CA – Early on Sunday morning, the Long Beach Police Department reported that a man was hit by a car and killed while crawling across the northbound lanes of Pacific Avenue.
According to Press-Telegram, around 4:00 a.m. on May 17 the man was seen crawling on the road and moving east and west on Pacific Avenue near 5th Street. The police have not released any information about why the man was crawling along the road.
While in the street, the man was hit by a white sedan driving in the left lane. After the accident, the sedan left the scene, and the police believe the driver turned left on 6th street.
The man sustained critical injuries in the crash and paramedics rushed him to the hospital for treatment. The man died in the hospital later the same day.
Officers have not located the car involved in this accident. They report that the car may be a white Nissan, but they have no other information about the driver or the vehicle at this time.
