LONG BEACH, CA – According to Long Beach Post, a woman was fatally struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run collision early Wednesday.
Police were called to the scene around 1:40 a.m., where they found a woman lying in the center lane of southbound Woodruff Avenue, near Deborah Street. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said, “Officers’ preliminary investigation revealed that the pedestrian was walking in the southbound lanes of Woodruff Avenue when a vehicle, also traveling southbound, collided with her. The vehicle failed to stop after the collision and fled the scene.”
Police said that the woman’s age and name were not available. The Los Angeles County coroner will identify the victim after notifying her next of kin.
