LONG BEACH, CA – Long Beach Fire Department responded to an overturned SUV that killed one and injured two others along a freeway transition road on Monday.
The incident occurred at about 3:30 p.m. as the driver was transitioning from the northbound 405 Freeway to the northbound 710 Freeway, according to a Long Beach Fire Spokesperson.
Upon their arrival, firefighters noticed 3 people still stuck inside the SUV and proceeded to use the jaws of life to pull the victims from their vehicle.
According to the spokesperson, the single fatality was a female in her late 30’s to early 40’s. The other passengers, an adult male and a minor were transported to a local hospital and are in critical condition.
