Four-Car Crash on Newport Beach sends three people to the hospital

NEWPORT BEACH, CA– A four-vehicle pileup on the Pacific Coast Highway Tuesday morning resulted in three hospitalizations and an arrest, according to Newport Beach Police.

Two motorists in a Land Rover and Ferrari were traveling westbound at a high rate of speed when they collided with two other cars in front of the Balboa Bay Resort.

The individual in the Range Rover remained at the scene while the Ferrari sped off. The driver was later arrested in her home for suspected evasion of peace officers as well as hit-and-run with property damage.

The victims in the other vehicles were transported to the hospital, but their injuries were not deemed to be serious, according to police.

The incident shut down all lanes of the Pacific Coast Highway from Dover Drive to Tustin Avenue but has since been reopened.
