LOS ANGELES, CA – Officials in Los Angeles are investigating an incident that began with a shootout and ended in a crash early Wednesday morning.
Police responded to reports of a shootout at West 87th Street and Broadway around 12:20 a.m. Shots were already being exchanged when police arrived on the scene, causing one officer to open fire, according to CBSLA.
A pursuit ensued following the gunfire, which ended with two people bailing out of their vehicle before it crashed at the intersection of Slauson Avenue and San Pedro Street.
Two people were transported to a local hospital to be treated for gunshot wounds, and three were arrested. No police officers were injured.
