One dead, three hurt in violent crash

SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA – Late Sunday evening, reports came in of an armed carjacking on the corner of West 25th and South Congress Ave. The suspected car later crashed after a high speed chase leaving one dead and three injured.

The driver was accosted by a man and woman with a gun. The victim left the vehicle and the man and woman drove off at a high rate of speed.

Officers located the stolen vehicle and tried to initiate a traffic stop. The male suspect drove off with the female suspect in the front seat. The chase ended with the stolen car crashing into a car initiating a left turn on Normandie and 60th street.

The woman passenger died at the scene. The male suspect and two men in the opposing car, were taken to the hospital with injuries.

Officers are investigating the happenings that led to to the carjacking and chase. The name of the suspects and victims were withheld.
