HOLLYWOOD, CA – A pedestrian accident resulted in a woman’s death and caused a shutdown of the Red Line line near Hollywood Tuesday afternoon, reports Canyon News.
A woman was struck by the rail car around 4:14 p.m. at the Hollywood/Vine station. The Los Angeles Fire Department was dispatched, and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
It took some time to recover the woman’s body as it was underneath the rail car. Power was cut to the station and rail car was moved away from the scene, at which point the coroner took over the investigation.
The woman’s name has not been released at this time.
Local authorities are investigating the cause of the accident and more information may be made available at a later time.
