SAN BERNARDINO, CA – Two individuals were changing a tire Tuesday evening when they were struck and killed by a pickup truck, reports KTLA 5.
Authorities received reports of the collision around 11:45 p.m. A man noticed a woman needed assistance with her tire on the freeway and pulled over to lend a hand. They were both stopped on the shoulder of the southbound I-215 and were outside of their vehicles.
The driver of a white Ford pickup truck weaved out of his lane and struck one of the parked cars. The force of the collision pushed the disabled car into the two disembarked motorists. They were pronounced dead at the scene. Their names were not immediately released, only that both individuals were from the Perris area.
Authorities do not believe that alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision. However, the accident is still under investigation and more information will be forthcoming.
