Three-vehicle collision kills one in Westmont

LOS ANGELES, CA – A three-vehicle collision in Westmont killed one man Saturday, reports NBC Los Angeles.

The collision occurred on 106th Street around 9:35 p.m. A man, who authorities later identified as Carlton Compton, was driving a black Saab when a white BMW drove through a stop sign and collided with another white BMW. Compton attempted to avoid the crash but was unable to.

Compton crashed into the median and then a tree. He was pronounced dead at the scene. One of the other drivers was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Authorities are investigating the collision and the sequence of events leading up to it.
