VAN NUYS, CA – A three-car crash near Van Nuys Airport Thursday evening resulted in one death and one injury.
According to CBSN Los Angeles, the collision occurred around 9:10 p.m. in the 16400 block of West Vanowen Street. Authorities closed one block of Vanown Street in both directions. All lanes of Vanown Street have since reopened.
Firefighters worked to free one driver, whom they pronounced dead at the scene. Another person was taken to a local hospital for injuries, and was listed as in fair condition. A third person left the crash site before firefighters arrived.
The cause of the crash is unknown at this time, and it is still under investigation.
