LOS ANGELES, CA – A skateboarder died in an accident involving a metro bus just after midnight on Sunday in East Los Angeles.
According to CBSN Los Angeles, the incident happened around 12:40 a.m. near the intersection of City Terrace Drive and Pomeroy Avenue. Authorities pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
It appeared to a witness that a male skateboarder crashed into the side of the bus when it was stopped at the intersection light. The bus driver seemed to be unaware the skateboarder had fallen beneath the bus tires, according to the witness.
A female witness, identified as ‘Mimi’, stated, “When it had the green light, all we did was we turned around and heard people screaming. When we turned around, there was a dead body.”
Local authorities are not considering the crash a hit-and-run. The bus driver was questioned when CHP officers found the individual at another location.
