LOS ANGELES, CA – A 19-year-old woman was hit and killed on the 405 early Thursday morning while she stood alongside a disabled vehicle.
MyNewsLA reports that Cielo Romero Rojas was a passenger in a 2005 Toyota that was involved in a crash that occurred in the left lanes of the southbound San Diego Freeway (I-405) near Normandie Avenue at about 3:35 a.m. She and the driver safely exited the vehicle and walked to the right-hand shoulder before returning to the vehicle to retrieve some belongings.
Rojas was hit by a 2004 Toyota, while she stood next to the disabled vehicle. The 24-year-old driver of the car that hit Rojas was hospitalized with moderate injuries.
According to Fox 11, a second person was also injured in the crash, which involved a total of five vehicles.
