(HAWAIIAN GARDENS, January 2020) — Authorities are on the hunt for the driver who slammed into a Hawaiian Gardens restaurant on Thursday night. The crash occurred around 7:40 PM when a GMC truck crashed into a wall of Don Rueben’s Mexican Grill on East Carson Street.
The vehicle caused significant damage to the restaurant’s kitchen, and the crash caused hot cooking oil to splash onto three employees. Two of the employees were taken to hospital for treatment — one employee refused transport.
Authorities are still looking for the driver, who fled the scene.
