LOS ANGELES, CA – The Press-Telegram reports that a woman sitting in a parked car in Long Beach was killed when 23-year-old Eric Munson crashed his vehicle into hers. Long Beach Police say the crash occurred on Canal Avenue near Ester Street around 4:40 p.m. on April 12th. The 56-year-old woman was parked in her 1995 Toyota Tercel when she was hit by Munson in his 2003 Nissan Altima and pushed into the back of a semi-truck. She was treated on-site, but died at the scene of the accident.
A passenger in Munson’s vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with police. Munson fled the scene on foot after the accident, but police caught up with him shortly. Police arrested Munson and found that he was under the influence of alcohol. He was booked on a $100,000 bail.
