UPDATE: Speeding Drivers Fall from 5 Freeway

LOS ANGELES, CA – Police officers report that speeding likely caused two vehicles to fall from 5 Freeway to the street below. The incident occurred at 6:03 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, according to KHTS. A Chrysler sedan and a Toyota sedan tumbled from the northbound lanes of 5 Freeway to Rye Canyon Road. Police did not initially release the cause of the crash, but they have now stated that the drivers in both vehicles were speeding when the accident occurred.

When police arrived on the scene, the Chrysler’s driver was trapped in his car, after it landed on its roof, and he sustained a visible head injury in the accident. The Toyota’s driver also sustained moderate injuries in the crash. Officers rushed both drivers to the Henry Mayo Newhall hospital for treatment.
