Intoxicated Driver Injures Five Children

SAN BERNARDINO, CA – Five children were seriously injured in a single-vehicle accident Saturday evening, authorities say.

CBS Los Angeles reports that Eric Ortega, 28, lost control of his Chevy Tahoe near the intersection of Greenspot Road and Santa Ana Canyon Road at around 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 2. The Tahoe left the road and rolled over into a nearby field, ejecting several of the five children who were passengers in the vehicle.

All five of the children were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police have not provided any additional information about the children’s condition. Ortega is currently in police custody for suspected intoxicated driving.
