Speeding Motorcyclist Dies on I-5 South

CASTAIC, CA – A motorcyclist died in a single-vehicle accident southwest of Castaic Lake last month, The Signal reports.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, drove his Suzuki bike into a center divider while speeding on Interstate 5 South near Parker Road. The accident occurred around noon on Saturday, April 2.

California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers found the rider dead at the scene. They believe he was thrown from his bike before the impact occurred. A witness told police that the motorcyclist was traveling at 100 miles per hour at the time of the crash.

CHP is investigating the accident, but they believe speed was likely the cause of the collision.
