SANTA BARBARA, CA – A man on a bicycle sustained serious injuries after a collision with a car on Saturday morning.
KEYT 3 reports that a Toyota Prius and a bicycle crashed on Highway 154 near San Antonio Creek Road at 9:43 a.m. May 2nd. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) has not released any information about the cause of the crash at this time.
The Santa Barbara County Fire Department rushed the cyclist to the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital after the accident. Officials reported that the cyclist’s injuries were critical, and they have not provided any updates on the man’s condition.
Officials on the scene were uncertain if the driver or passengers in the Prius sustained injuries from the crash.
The CHP closed all lanes on Highway 154 Saturday morning to investigate the scene of the accident. However, they re-opened lanes to traffic in the early afternoon.
