VALENCIA, CA – A driver sustained injuries after crashing into a fire hydrant on McBean Parkway near Tournament Lane on Tuesday night.
KHTS reports that the accident occurred at approximately 9:00 p.m. on May 5 and involved a single vehicle. At this time, officials are uncertain what caused the driver to collide with the fire hydrant.
The driver sustained injuries in the accident and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The severity of the driver’s injuries and their current condition is unknown.
The impact removed the fire hydrant from the ground, which caused minimal flooding on the surrounding street. Officers from the Los Angeles County Fire Department were still working to clear the scene and stop flooding at 9:25 p.m.
