UPDATE: Police identify pedestrian, driver killed in Carson crash

CARSON, CA – In an update to a story reported earlier this week, police have identified Kraig Fujinaka and Alexander Gatlin as, respectively, the pedestrian and the driver killed in a three-vehicle crash in Carson Friday night.

According to Rafu Shimpo, Fujinaka was a 60-year-old man from San Diego who was walking near West 234th Street and South Main Street when three cars collided. The accident occurred at 9:30 p.m. on May 1. Fujinaka was hit by one of the vehicles involved in the collision and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Alexander Gatlin, 28, was one of two drivers trapped in their vehicles after the accident. Officers from the Los Angeles County Fire Department worked to rescue the drivers from their vehicles. However, Gatlin sustained critical injuries and died on the scene of the accident.

Another driver involved in the collision was transported to a local hospital. The severity of the driver’s injuries and their current condition is unknown.

Police officers are still investigating the cause of this accident.
