Pedestrian killed on 215 Freeway

SAN BERNARDINO, CA – A driver killed a pedestrian who was walking along the 215 Freeway on Friday night.

The 40-year-old man was walking in the road on 215 Freeway near West 27th Street at approximately 8:45 p.m. on May 1, according to The Sun. Police are unsure why the man was walking on the busy road at night.

A man in a Ford Crown Victoria was driving in a northbound lane when he hit the pedestrian. The driver called the police and stayed at the scene to assist with the investigation.

A California Police Officer who arrived on the scene stated that the pedestrian sustained serious injuries in the accident. The man died on the scene shortly after the police arrived.

The pedestrian’s identity has not been released to the public, while the police are notifying his next of kin and investigating the incident.
