LOS ANGELES, CA – A boy died in a nine-vehicle crash which occurred on the 10 Freeway on Sunday afternoon.
NBC Los Angeles reports that the accident occurred at 1:40 p.m. on May 10 near the Francisquito Avenue exit ramp on the 10 Freeway. Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department are unsure what caused the accident at this time.
Officials pronounced one boy dead on the scene of the accident. They have not yet released the boy’s age or any other identifying information. Several other people involved in the accident sustained serious injuries and were transported to the hospital.
Five lanes of traffic were closed on the 10 Freeway after the crash, while police investigated the accident and removed debris from the road. The freeway lanes were closed from 2:22 p.m. until 5:49 p.m. on Sunday.
