PINYON CREST, CA – In an update to a previous report, the police charged a man with suspected murder for throwing his daughter over a cliff after a rollover accident on Wednesday morning.
According to NBC Los Angeles, Adam Slater, 49, was fleeing the scene after a domestic violence incident near the Southwest Community Church. The police found a woman near the church who was injured in the incident, and she provided information about Slater.
As police were responding to the domestic violence report, they learned that Slater’s vehicle rolled over at approximately 9:00 a.m. on Highway 74 near Vista Point. Witnesses told officials that several drivers stopped to help remove Slater and his young daughter from the car. However, Slater stabbed one of the men who was trying to assist.
Once he was freed from the car, Slater took his daughter and threw her over a nearby cliff. Slater then ran to a canyon where police found him shortly after the accident.
The child sustained severe injuries when she was thrown over the cliff, and officials pronounced the girl dead on the scene. There is no information about the child’s age or name available at this time.
Slater sustained moderate injures in the rollover crash and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The police plan to arrest Slater for murder after he is released from the hospital.
