Speeding motorcyclist loses leg

LOS ANGELES, CA – A motorcyclist was speeding on Highway 118 near Granada Hills on Wednesday evening when he crashed and severed his leg

The Los Angeles Police Department responded to reports of several motorcycles speeding on Highway 118 during the evening of May 13. ABC 7 reports that officers found one of the riders in a nearby neighborhood after a serious crash.

The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries in the accident, including severing his right leg. Officials rushed the rider to a local trauma center for treatment. There is no information about his condition at this time.

Police are uncertain about what caused the motorcyclist to crash. They have detained several of the other speeding riders to question them about the incident. Officials have not released whether the other riders have been cited or arrested.
