6 injured in Metro bus crash in South LA

LOS ANGELES, CA – As many as six people were injured Tuesday evening when a Metro bus crashed into multiple vehicles and then a traffic light in the unincorporated Florence/Firestone area of South LA.

My News LA reports that the incident occurred at the intersection of Florence Avenue and Miramonte Boulevard shortly before 9:35 p.m. on May 19. It is unclear what caused the accident or even how many vehicles were hit before the runaway bus came to a halt.

At least one person was hospitalized because of injuries sustained in the incident.

An investigation conducted by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is ongoing.
