IRVINE, CA – According to Orange County Fire Authority, a 70-year-old bicyclist was killed when she was struck by a vehicle near an intersection of Portola Parkway Monday morning.
Both Police and Orange County Fire answered a call about an incident involving a bicyclist and a gray Mercedes Benz around 9:59 a.m.
The motorist driving the Mercedes cooperated with the authorities. They stayed at the scene and were subject to a drug and alcohol screening, though neither was deemed a factor in the incident
Police are not releasing the names of either party involved in the collision at this time.
