LOS ANGELES, CA – A vehicle-to-vehicle shooting and subsequent crash closed all southbound lanes to traffic for nearly six hours this morning, the Los Angeles Times reports.
The California Highway Patrol responded to reports of shots fired near Redondo Beach Boulevard at about 4 a.m.
By 4:30 a.m., the official CHP Twitter account tweeted that lanes would be blocked indefinitely due to police activity.

That activity dragged on through much of rush hour.
A car crash and fire in the northbound lanes may have been related to the accident. News sources say a failed drug deal may be to blame, but authorities will not confirm that at this time.
This is an ongoing story and will be updated when possible.
