Head on crash kills one and injures two

LOS ANGELES, CA – A head-on, two-vehicle crash on Highway 38 killed one man and injured two women Wednesday afternoon, reports the Big Bear Grizzly. 

The incident happened around 1:00 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 38 near the Forest Road off-ramp.  A Hyundai Veloster was traveling west in the eastbound lanes and collided with a Toyota Rav4.

It is unclear why the Hyundai was traveling against traffic. Reports stated that it was traveling at an accelerated rate of speed. By the driver of the Toyota saw the oncoming car there was not enough time to brake.

The two vehicles crashed head-on. The 35-year-old driver of the Hyundai was not wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene from significant injuries. The 25-year-old driver of the Toyota and her 16-year-old passenger were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

Officials have not released the names of the victims. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
