Body identified in solo collision

LOS ANGELES, CA – A single-vehicle crash was discovered Sunday in Newhall Pass, reports The Signal News.

A motorist found the crash site when they had pulled over on the Sierra Highway near Old Road. The car was obscured by brush and it was difficult to see from the road. The motorist saw what appeared to be a person inside and called the police.

Authorities arrived on the scene and discovered a body belonging to Paul Gallette, 56, from Sylar. Gallette had been reported missing on May 22. Officers believe Gallette had been in the vehicle for more than 30 days.

The initial investigation found empty alcoholic beverage containers and it appeared Gallette was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Speed and alcohol may have been a factor of the crash.

The single-car crash is still under investigation and more information will be given as it becomes available.
