LOS ANGELES, CA – A vehicle struck four pedestrians injuring them Wednesday evening, reports CBS Los Angeles.
The pedestrians were struck on South Wadsworth Avenue around 8:50 p.m. near Central Avenue and 88th street. The adult and three children were out for a walk when they were struck. They were transported to the hospital for injuries. The adult received critical injuries while the children suffered minor ones.
Police do not believe the crash was a hit and run. Early investigations were not able to determine why the car collided with the pedestrians or if the driver even remained at the scene.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances leading up to the crash. There will also be a check on whether alcohol or drugs played a significant role. The adult in the hospital is expected to survive.
