Los Angeles Police Officers injured after driver runs a red light

LOS ANGELES, CA – Two members of the Los Angeles Police Department were taken to the hospital after being struck by a driver who apparently ran a red light on Santa Monica Boulevard.

According to KTLA, the accident happened at the intersection of Santa Monica Blvd. and Butler Avenue, in the neighborhood of Sawtelle, at about 8:37 p.m.

Surveillance cameras caught the incident on tape, which shows a white sedan running the light and crashing into the police cruiser. It is unclear at this time whether any charges have been filed.

The condition of the two officers involved in the crash remains unknown as of Thursday evening.
