LOS ANGELES, CA – Police have charged a man they believe is responsible for a fatal crash that killed a woman in Gardena last weekend.
KTLA reports that police believe Isaiah Lono, alias Isaiah Portillo, stole a 2018 Dodge Ram 3500 near an auto shop. He sped off, crashed into several vehicles, and ran a red light at Redondo Beach Boulevard and Vermont Avenue, where he struck Angelica Gonzalez.
Lono initially fled the scene of the crash, but bystanders prevented his escape. He was charged with several felonies Wednesday, including murder, fleeing from the scene of a fatal collision and grand theft. Arresting police believed he was intoxicated at the time, but he has not been charged with DUI.
