GARDEN GROVE, CA – A driver has been taken into police custody after he crashed his vehicle into an RV and then fled the scene in Garden Grove this weekend.
According to NBC Los Angeles, the incident began just before 11:30 p.m. with the suspect, Gil Leyvas, driving at a high rate of speed over multiple highways, ending with the 405 Freeway, while fleeing from police.
During the chase, Leyvas struck the front of an RV before colliding with a pole at the intersection of Knott Street and Orangewood Avenue.
Leyvas then attempted to flee the scene on foot but was later caught by police and taken into custody along with a passenger in his vehicle, who was not identified.
The two occupants of the RV were not reported as injured.
