LOS ANGELES, CA – A woman who had been lying in the middle of a street in Koreatown was hit and killed by a hit-and-run driver early this morning, according to KABC.
The accident happened near Fifth Street and Wilton Place at about 1:20 a.m. when a 33-year-old woman from Los Angeles reportedly parked her car, then lay down in the middle of the roadway before being struck by an SUV.
The driver of the dark SUV briefly stopped after the collision before leaving the site of the crash.
The victim, who has yet to be publicly identified pending notification of next-of-kin, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities are looking into the incident and are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the capture and arrest of the driver.
